Bamboo Mochi

I have no idea what this is called in English and a lot of other teachers had never seen it before either.

It was given to us by the headmaster.

To eat it, first you take off the leaf, then you stab three holes in the covered end. Then you bang the end til the mochi starts to come out and then you suck it.

Nice presentation and with a certain way to do something that is tricky and could be much simpler- sounds Japanese to me!
