Dance Show

My dance studio had its annual performance last week!

We've been working on the routine since last October but I still feel like I didn't have the hang of a couple of moves. Still I managed to smile this time which is a huge improvement!

The music was a mix of Talk Dirty and Love More.

I was going to wear a baseball cap borrowed from a co-worker but in the end I just clipped blonde streaks in my hair instead.

My teacher has left the class now which is very sad :( I'm nervous about the new teacher coming in.

Here's a pic of us after we performed...

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis in Shibuya

It was my birthday last week so I went to Tokyo. Back in January I found out that Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were going to play a show in Shibuya on my birthday so I had to get tickets! Turns out Ryan's birthday is the day before mine which is pretty cool!

The show was really really good, they had so much energy and the crowd had so much energy it was hella fun. (I will try not to use the word hella again!)

I hope they come back to promote the next album.

Shakespeare

Last week I went with school to see a version of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

It was in Japanese and had a few differences from the original. The play that the Mechanicals were performing was Alice In Wonderland which made me really happy! And the four lovers didn't end up together in the end but in a way that made sense.

The set was awesome, made up mostly of newspapers, it had swirly trees and a moon. Reminded me a little of Burton.

The drama workshop I did a while ago was with the same group and the guy who lead the workshop played Puck. I went to say hi at the end and he remembered me. He was really confused until I said that I had come for work!

It made me remember how much I love theatre and I really need to see more.

Circus!

The other week I went to the circus with some friends. It was awesome!

The acrobats and trapeze artists were amazing, I literally had my hands over my mouth for parts of it. There was a huge 'Wheel of Death' thing that span around and two guys ran on top of it as it span.
Without safety wires. Blindfolded. !!

There was balancing, trapeze, high-wire acts, motorbikes in a sphere, clowns, elephants, zebras, a giraffe and lions. The lion tamer was British, too.

It was a fantastic experience and something that I've always wanted to see.

Nagoya

I went to Nagoya for the weekend to go to the Creator's Market. It's a twice yearly event where artists and craftspeople have stalls to sell their things. We went in July and were unprepared for how big and overwhelming it would be! This time we were a little better prepared! One of my favourite artists was there and I got to pre-order her exhibition pamphlet as I can't make it to the show. I bought a lot of postcards, mainly Alice-themed, a large sticker of a Japanese influence Alice and a couple of little gifts to send home.

There was also a live painting section where you could watch the artists at work. I'd love to paint something that big one day!

The rest of the weekend involved skating, ice-cream, pizza, purikura and of course lots of laughing and catching up!

Tokyo DisneySea Halloween 2012

So my friend and I went to Tokyo for the weekend and we went to both Tokyo DisneySea and Tokyo Disneyland! Yay!
We arrived in Tokyo about lunchtime so DisneySea was just the afternoon to evening.

Halloween Costume

We had a kids Halloween party at work so I decided to go in costume (it was optional). I had the pink wig anyway, but it was my first time to try it out.

I also did my nails to match, my first time trying leopard print. It wasn't so bad but I could do with some practice I think.

When I went into town still dressed up I got a lot of looks and made a whole bunch of people smile. Some high school kids even asked to have their photo taken with me!

At The Beach

This is actually from the start of the summer, I'm just getting around to backing up my pictures now!
